Just like I have done EVERY year for the past 6 years and I will continue to do until I can no longer speak, type, or write. PLEASE take a second to read this and pay respects to, two men that can no longer do that.
Today is Friday March 11, 2011. Im guessing that for most of you, you are excited for the weekend, happy that you get to go and get sloppy drunk, sleep in for a day and let it pass like any other Friday.
7 years ago TODAY while conducting combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq two of Americas VERY finest and most ambitious gave their lives defending this amazing country and taking the fight to the enemy.
While driving our Humvee to yet another operation in the ASS HOLE of this planet that is called Fallujah, Iraq our truck was stuck by the most cowardess of weapons…… An IED (roadside bomb). After realizing that our vehicle was completely destroyed and wiping the blood from my face I was able to see the extent of the damage……………
On 3/11/2004 Staff Sergeant Joseph Dunigan and Specialist Christopher K. Hill were killed doing exactly what they took the oath to do….DEFEND THIS COUNTRY!
Specialist Christopher K. Hill was from Ventura, California and left behind a Wife and a little daughter that will never know her father… NOT be walked down the aisle to her future husband by him, NOT be able to have daddy scare the monsters from under her bed away like I get to…...
Staff Sergeant Joseph L. Dunigan Jr. was from Belton, TX and left behind a wife and two teenage sons that will never again get to see their father, drink a beer with them at their weddings or maybe even swear them into the service.
Those of you that know me KNOW that I do not ask people for ANYTHING!! But today I simply ask you that when you go out tonight and have your beers and shots. Or when you’re yelling at your kids, complaining about facebook or your lover..
Take one single solitary second and raise your glass to a couple of AMERICAS ABSOLUTE FINEST that paid the ULTIMATE price for you!! SSG. D and Hill (SWAT)…….. You will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!!! Not as long as I have a breath in my body!!!!!
